Southern California Yachting Association
|Due to the hard work of our Staff Commodore, Tom McKnew, SeaGate Yacht
Club is now a member of the Southern California Yachting Association. Our
club abbreviation for all SCYA purposes will be SeaGYC. Our traditional
abbreviation of SGYC is already in use by a member club, the Silver Gate
Yacht Club in San Diego.
Based on the size of our club, we are an 'Associate' member with all the rights and privileges. Advancement to higher levels of membership depend on a variety of issues such as number of members, time of membership and participation in SCYA events.
Each flag officer has a copy of the SCYA yearbook and will be glad to share the information on request. If you desire to have a copy of your own, they are available at $15.00 each from the SCYA Service Center.
Jr. Staff Commodore Les Kelly is our delegate for the regular SCYA meetings and will be happy to entertain any request by any other member to act as alternate. Please contact one of your Flag Officers if you have an interest.
Please remember, when you wish to take advantage of reciprocal privileges, it is in good taste to call ahead for reservations for either dining or docking. Bring your SeaGYC membership card and sign in at the desk. Remember that the club abbriviation for SCYA purposes is SeaGYC. To find the list of SCYA members you can go to www.scya.org and select 'Member Clubs' from the menu listing on the left side of the home page. If the member club has a web site, clicking on the club name will take you to their web site.
